Prayer for Ethiopia
WHY PRAY?
Prayer is of utmost importance. It provides us with an opportunity to communicate with God on behalf of the needs of our fellow Ethiopian sisters who have been rescued from the chains of prostitution. Through our prayers, He makes it possible for His divine blessings to abundantly rain down in dry and weary places.
EFFECTS OF PRAYER
God has graciously armed us with the spiritual weapon of united prayer in our arsenal. When we pray in unity using the Word of God as our foundation, we obtain His grace to help meet necessities in both tangible and intangible ways. As joint heirs with Christ, His power is entrusted to us, and apart from Him we can do nothing. Let us use that power to place petitions before His throne.
CHRIST’S LOVE
Our prayer ministry, fueled by Christ’s love and aligned with the Lord’s purpose, produces change, provides encouragement, and promotes healing- spiritual healing, physical healing, and trauma healing. May the Holy Spirit produce fruit, and may God’s will be done in the current prayer requests below.
PARTNER WITH US IN PRAYER
- Pray for more funds to be received in order to meet the needs of the 4 new churches that have joined. (“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:19)
- Pray for generous year-end giving during the Christmas Season. (“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” -Proverbs 11:25)
- Pray for the Lord’s hand to continue to be upon Renewed Life. (“For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right” -Psalm 84:11)
- Pray for the program to receive the support needed to begin providing lunch to the women’s children in order to cultivate deeper relationships as the love of Jesus is shared. (“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith, but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” -James 2:14-17)
- Pray for the planning of the upcoming visit of leaders from Ethiopia to the United States and Canada to expand Renewed Life’s vision. (“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” -Isaiah 43:19)
- Pray for more laborers to serve in God’s vision for Renewed Life. (“Then He said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'” -Matthew 9:37-38)
- Pray for God’s grace and protection for members serving on the board in the United States and in Tigray. (“But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.” -2 Thessalonians 3:3)
- Pray for America’s government, political transition, and positive global influence. (“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage.” -Psalm 33:12)

PRAISE REPORTS
Thank you for praying for the team’s recent trip to Ethiopia! God did amazing things!
- Four new churches have joined the Renewed Life program!
- One of the Renewed Life churches has more ex-prostitutes in attendance than current church members.
- One of our Renewed Life churches has 92 women who have registered to begin the Renewed Life program as soon as openings become available.
- One of the Renewed Life churches are thrilled that the women being served in the program are also going out into the community to bring people to church!
One way we can express gratitude together is to praise God “from whom all blessings flow” as so beautifully written in the Doxology, a short hymn:
Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him all creatures here below;
Praise Him above ye heav’nly hosts;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Amen.
